Just a Wii bit obsessed...

Don't you love when kids get gifts for Christmas that are fun for you to play with? Madyson and Luke both got a DSi from me and their dad bought them a Wii.

Y'all.

The wii, it has taken over our lives. Madyson must have also received the gift of trash talking in her stocking this year. She will take anyone on at anytime. Bring it. And she's good. The first time I realized she had such a "gift" was while I was doing the bicycle game. She sat there the whole time trash talking me telling me she'd wipe the floor with me, yada yada yada.

She did.

And she beats me at everything. It would be embarrassing to admit the number of hours and effort that it took me to beat her record at wake boarding. She's 7. What has my life come to? I'm trying to beat a 7 year old and I'm annoying when I do.

I don't even attempt to beat the brother at basketball but a rematch is on for tennis. I blame the interference of a 30+ pound 3 year old that was latched on my feet during the game. It's on tonight.

Stay tuned.

Great Friends...

Do any of you have a group of friends that you may not see every day or even every week but you still feel like you can pick right back up where you left off? Isn't it great to have those friends? I have such a group and in fact, I call them family.

It started when I worked with Linda. Then I became friends with her daughter and granddaughters and now I just feel like the long lost cousin. They may feel it's something more like cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation showing up. Don't worry though, I didn't buy approximately $200 worth of dog food while asking them to buy my family's Christmas presents after I parked my condemned motor home in their front yard.

Honestly though, I can't imagine not having this family in my life. We've done a lot of laughing, crying, praying and eating together and I wouldn't trade one second of it.

They invited me over last night and I probably overstayed my welcome but it's hard to leave good company and good food.

I didn't get pics with Marissa or Linda, but here is Brittany and Breiah.

Beautiful aren't they? And they're princesses. It's true. When I can't go to Disney World, I just go see them and have my picture made with them instead. Snow who? Cinda who?

Brittany is my long lost twin. We have twin hair actually, but I just call her my twin.

Thanks for last night. It was a blast!

I'm Back.

I don't even know where to begin. Sorry I've been away for a sweet eternity but life has rendered me unable to think, speak, feel or write. It's been a tough year but I can see the silver lining behind the dark clouds. I've discovered I don't have to understand all the hardships that come, but I do have help from the Father and I understand help is on the way.

So.....if there is absolutely anyone still out there reading that hasn't given up on me, I'm back....and I'm praying hard for a better year.

Obsessed much?

Ok, I'll admit it. I have many quirky and strange traits. I thought it might be therapeutic to share one of them today.

I go through different products that I am afraid of running out of. There really is no rhyme or reason for the products I choose. It has been toothpaste. Then it was toilet paper. I just bought the first tube of toothpaste in a year. A YEAR. We also just bought toilet paper for the first time since January.

It's a sickness. Really.

I have recently discovered the new product I have a phobia of running out of.

Because if you have toothpaste, toilet paper and pop tarts what is left to want or need?

Vacation.....Part 3

Ok, I lied. No pics or updates today.

I'll try to have pics up tomorrow of today's events. The big events were meeting Jessie, Buzz and Woody. Ben is still talking about shaking Buzz's hand. He was thrilled out of his mind.

I'm not putting pics up because I'm going to bed. I'm pretty sure my feet are revolting against me.

Vacation.....Day 2

WE'RE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel it is safe to say that this picture pretty much sums up how we all felt upon our arrival to the resort late last night. So tired, you don't care you're cuddled up with your sister/brother.
Today was our "hang out day." We spent the morning at Downtown Disney doing a little shopping and buying everyone's Mickey ears for the next three days of fun.
There were some really neat photo sites, but after this session, I realized my dreams of a perfect photo for my new Mickey picture frame were pretty much shot.

Special thanks to the dragon for being my only reliable subject. FYI: That dragon is made entirely out of Lego's. Cool huh?

Next, it was time to buy our Mickey Ears.

Luke chose Lightening McQueen ears.

Ben chose Toy Story ears.

Madyson chose a Minnie Mouse. For some reason, I have no photo of it yet.

After ear purchasing, a train ride was in order. Because Luke has a personal goal of leaving no train unridden.

I want to point out that no matter what we did Ben, would not wave or look at us as the train drove by. He DID, however wave at the lady operating the train. He's starting early. Lord, help us.

Ben's friend, the train operator.

But, alas, she was not as exciting as Buzz Lightyear or Potato Head.

As excited as he was about the fake Buzz, I can't imagine his reaction to the real Buzz tomorrow. I can't wait for him to see Buzz.

Finally, we had lunch at Rainforest Cafe and headed back for swimming and are about to have dinner. We're headed to bed early in preparation for an early morning.

If we can manage to go to sleep.

To be continued.....

Vacation.....Day 1

Today was the first day of my vacation. My plan was to sleep late. My plan fell through.

My morning began at 6:00. AM.

Seriously.

If I'm going to wake up that early, I need to be productive. I began packing the van for the BIG TRIP.

You may remember me saying we were going to Disney World last year. One broken foot (mom), two surgeries (me and mom) and a custody battle, we finally are on our way this time.

I am actually writing this from the road. We are about half way to Orlando and yes, I am already going out of my mind with three small children in the car. At least two are fighting at all times and yes, I have already threatened to turn this car around. Even though I'm not driving and we are not in a car, we're in a van.

I will be updating about the trip from the blog instead of facebook so be sure to stay tuned for all of the fun we'll be having.

Let me share some of our first pictures. This is us waving goodbye to home and all of our friends and family left behind as we set out on what is sure to be an awesome time as a family. I can't wait to see Ben meet Buzz and Woody, Madyson to meet Jessie and Luke to meet Lightening McQueen.

I promise to bore you with every detail.

Pinky promise.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder....

Or maybe it makes you forget me all together.

I'm not sure.

Anyway, I've been told by several people that they've had enough of my absence and for goodness sakes, say something already. Since that doesn't happen all that often in my life, I thought I'd drop by to say "HI."

And to ask your forgiveness for my absence. And to explain a few things.

Our lives have been on a crazy roller coaster since October and frankly, I haven't had the energy or "want to" to write.

I've also struggled with whether to tell our story. However, I did start this blog to tell my story and to keep up with things that have happened in my niece and nephews' lives. And like it or not, this is very much a part of all our lives.

I want them to know what they mean to me and my parents....how wonderful and valuable they are and how much joy they bring to us.

I've decided it is a story that must be told.

And it will be.

Stay tuned......
